Obama: Mubarak must listen to Egyptian people
Associated Press Feb. 4, 2011

President Barack Obama says Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak needs to listen to the Egyptian people and make a judgment about the best way forward. Obama declined to say whether he thought Mubarak should leave office now or stay in power until elections can be held. Obama says the key question Mubarak should be asking himself is how he can leave behind a legacy that allows for an orderly transition for his country...

Obama's Blame-Bush-for-Economy Tactic Fails

As it becomes clear that his economic policies are not working, President Obama’s solution is to trot out his favorite scapegoat more frequently.

In his latest effort to blame President Bush, Obama said, “It’s been nearly two years since that terrible September when our economy teetered on the brink of collapse . . . What we did know was that it took nearly a decade to dig the hole that we’re in — and that it would take longer than any of us would like to climb our way out.”

Obama may sound like a broken record, but he’s not fooling anyone. If the CEO of a company kept blaming poor results on a predecessor from nearly two years back, he would be fired. But Obama has so little regard for the intelligence of the American people that he thinks his cover-up of his own failings will work.

Just as transparent are Obama’s repeated claims that his healthcare law will save money and “bend the cost curve” of rising healthcare premiums. He is right — in the opposite direction. The healthcare law will not only raise premiums, it will raise taxes while reducing the quality and availability of healthcare.

Just as regularly, Obama expresses regret for not making Washington more bipartisan, yet he laces his speeches with gratuitous swipes at Republicans and has excluded them from legislative planning sessions.

Behind Obama’s belief that he can get away with such patently untrue statements is his opinion that Americans are pretty stupid. If you doubt that, look at his comments during the campaign about job losses.

“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years, and nothing’s replaced them,” Obama said in April 2008. “And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.

"And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

The polls show that Americans are not so dumb. By large margins, Americans reject nearly all of Obama’s major policy initiatives. In 9 of 15 issues examined by an Associated Press-GfK poll, more Americans who expressed intense interest in a problem voiced strong opposition to Obama's work on it, including the economy, unemployment, federal deficits and terrorism.

A new Gallup poll shows Republicans with a 10-point edge over Democrats on the question of whether voters prefer a Democratic or Republican congressional candidate. This is the largest GOP polling advantage at this point in the election cycle in 68 years of generic ballot polling.

If Obama doesn’t get it, Americans do.

Change We Can Believe In: Obama's Tax Pledge

Read the bill: Obamacare socks middle class with $3.9 billion tax increase

One more small detail they forgot to tell you about in the health care bill:

Taxpayers earning less than $200,000 a year will pay roughly $3.9 billion more in taxes — in 2019 alone — because of healthcare reform, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation, Congress’ official scorekeeper for legislation.

The new law raises $15.2 billion over 10 years by limiting the medical expense deduction, a provision widely used by taxpayers who either have a serious illness or are older.

Taxpayers can currently deduct medical expenses in excess of 7.5 percent of their adjusted gross income. Starting in 2013, most taxpayers will only be allowed to deduct expenses greater than 10 percent of AGI. Older taxpayers are hit by this threshold increase in 2017.

This is worse than a tax on the middle class. It’s a tax on the middle class who are seriously ill. And what’s the over/under on how may times Obama is going to break that “no taxes on anyone earning under $250,000 a year” pledge, anyway?

House Passes Historic Health Bill

“Oh what a night,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi said moments after the vote, after fielding a congratulatory call from President Barack Obama. “Without President Obama in the White House, this victory would not have been possible. He provided the vision and the momentum for us to get the job done for the American people.” Obama has made health care reform his signature legislative priority — and he put his personal prestige on the line Saturday by traveling to the Capitol to rally Democrats, telling them to “answer the call of history” by passing the bill.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1109/29282.html

Democrats Look Panicky and Careless

Harry Reid can rightly claim to be making history.

If he passes health-care reform, he'll depend on a series of historic "firsts." It'd be the first time Congress had passed a major new entitlement program without bipartisan support; it'd be the first time it passed such a program without popular support; and the first time it passed such a program without knowing or particularly caring what's in it...

This isn't the behavior of a self-confident majority secure in the knowledge that history is on its side. In fact, it's panicked, weasely, and willfully careless. The historian Richard Hofstadter wrote of the "paranoid style" in American politics. Obama Democrats have perfected the "impatient style." Reid's latest exertions fit the pattern of a headlong rush to a slapdash social democracy, justified by whatever arguments happen to be at hand and effected by whatever means necessary...

Reid acts like a hunted man for good reason. The RealClearPolitics average has 53.5 percent opposed to the Democrats' health-care plan and 37.7 favoring it. A CNN poll last week found the public against [the Senate Health Care Bill] by a nearly 2-1 margin... Reid's struggle getting to 60 [votes] makes some liberals fear for their country...

As his approval rating sags below 40 percent back in Nevada, even he might not be returning to Washington after 2010. Every day, every hour matters in the now-or-never calculus of Democrats who already feel their moment slipping agonizingly way.

An Inconvenient Truth

Inconvenient truth for Al Gore as his North Pole sums don't add up
By Hannah Devlin, Ben Webster & Philippe Naughton, December 15, 2009

Al Gore spoke at Copenhagen, telling the conference, "Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75% chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within 5 to 7 years."

But Maslowski says that this was never a figure they agreed to. "I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”

It seems Copenhagen is having a series of setbacks. Key elements of the deal are unraveling and developing countries walked out last night in protest. These along with Al Gore's blunder have cast yet more shadows over the conference of Copenhagen.

Gore Cancels Climate Conference Event
By Jennifer Harper, December 3, 2009

Former Vice President Al Gore on Thursday abruptly canceled a Dec. 16 personal appearance that was to be staged during the United Nations' Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, which begins next week...

Pajamas Media founder Roger L. Simon and independent filmmaker Lionel Chetwynd -- both members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and Oscar nominees -- have called on the academy to rescind Mr. Gore's Oscars in light of the Climategate revelations."In the history of the academy, not to my knowledge has an Oscar ever been rescinded. I think they should rescind this one," Mr. Simon said Thursday.

Congress May Probe Leaked Global Warming E-Mails
By Declan McCullagh, November 24, 2009

A few days after leaked e-mail messages appeared on the Internet, the U.S. Congress may probe whether prominent scientists who are advocates of global warming theories misrepresented the truth about climate change. Sen. James Inhofe, an Oklahoma Republican, said on Monday the leaked correspondence suggested researchers "cooked the science to make this thing look as if the science was settled, when all the time of course we knew it was not," according to a transcript of a radio interview posted on his Web site. Aides for Rep. Darrell Issa, a California Republican, are also looking into the disclosure.

The leaked documents (see our previous coverage) come from the Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia in eastern England... Last week's leaked e-mails range from innocuous to embarrassing and, critics believe, scandalous. They show that some of the field's most prominent scientists were so wedded to theories of man-made global warming that they ridiculed dissenters who asked for copies of their data ("have to respond to more crap criticisms from the idiots"), cheered the deaths of skeptical journalists, and plotted how to keep researchers who reached different conclusions from publishing in peer-reviewed journals.

A $646 Billion Dollar Tax Burden
Lawmakers Take First Whack at Obama Budget Plan
Associated Press, March 3, 2009

President Barack Obama's proposed tax increases are being met with misgivings by both Republicans and Democrats in Congress as he sends his treasury secretary to Capitol Hill to defend them.... Under the energy plan, Obama wants to reduce the emissions blamed for global warming by auctioning off carbon pollution permits. The proposal, known as cap and trade, is projected to raise $646 billion over 10 years.

Red Carpet Welcome

A "Change" in White House protocall that's hard to "Believe in"
Source: Secret Service let couple crash party

A Secret Service officer stationed at the first checkpoint at the White House state dinner last Tuesday [November, 24, 2009] did not verify the names of a couple allowed in even though they were not on the guest list, a senior law enforcement official told NBC News on Friday.

The officer saw that Tareq and Michaele Salahi were not on the list and, rather than verifying if they were legitimate guests, assumed they would be vetted at the next checkpoint and allowed them to pass, NBC learned.

The source also confirmed what two White House staff sources earlier told NBC News, that the Salahis were not “waved in” or had their names manually entered into the White House computer to gain entry.

http://www.ketknbc.com/news/source-secret-service-let-couple-crash-party
"An amazing lapse, but even more amazing when you consider that a Service checkpoint stationed outside the White House, where guests’ cars pulled up to the entrance, reportedly did notice that they weren’t on the list and turned them away. Apparently, they simply got out of the car and went around to a pedestrian entrance, where the fateful error occurred. As for how they ended up being announced at the dinner, follow that last link: It sounds like, once you’re inside, all you have to do is write your name on a card and hand it to the emcee. Voila. Instant video magic, my friends."

American Voice: American Liberty

Samuel Adams, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, and renown as a leader of the movement that became the American Revolution said, "While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader."
What is this virtue which Samuel Adams is referring? I believe he was talking about our steadfast, God-given right, not only to use our voices, but to use them in defiance of tyranny. Samuel Adams would later realize that it was a people’s boldness to speak out - and not remain silent - which would not only defy a monarch thousands of miles across the ocean, but would secure liberty for a nation we now call the United States of America.

Today, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, called those who have come out to oppose congress' recent health care proposal "un-American". Exercising our freedom to speak is anything but "un-American". On the contrary, it is the reason why we can even call ourselves American. Millions of men and women who have worn the uniform have fought and died, and continue to fight and die today for our freedom to speak out, without fear from those who have been elected to represent us.

When we are otherwise inclined to surrender our liberty to freely speak out because we fear how the government may respond, let us remind ourselves of the privilege, and even the duty, to exercise our patriotism through our constitutional rights under the first amendment. To suppress our voices out of fear is to decry the memories of those we stop to recognize every 4th of July, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day.

"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds" - Samuel Adams

Let us follow the example of Samuel Adams, who resolved to set brush fires in the minds of an otherwise fearful people. Take courage! THIS is what it means to be an American.

The little "g"

Rather than worshiping at the alter of "the big G" (God), liberals tend to place their faith - and even adoration - in "the little g" (government). Rather than viewing the big G as the One in whom, and through whom they derive their dependence, they count on the promises bestowed upon them by the little g to meet their "hopes and dreams for the future".

However, it is the big (not little) G who has endowed people with the ability to realize those hopes and dreams for themselves. They are inspired and empowered to venture into business (with minimal interference from the little g) so that they can thrive, subsequently giving them the capacity to grow, hire people, turning that little business into a bigger business, and thus building the foundation for a growing economy.

There are some who depend on the little g to save and sustain them. The little g attempts to convince people that they are actually the big G, pronouncing a message of "hope"! As unscrupulous as it may sound, they will tax those who work, then give the money derived from those taxes and "compassionately" distribute them to those who don't pay taxes and/or don't work.

The little g exercises its will by increasing the tax burden on investors (Capital Gains Tax) and small businesses, who in turn are compelled to make the difficult choice of "letting people go" in order to remain solvent. Desperate, many of those who become unemployed feel they have no choice but to run to expanded government programs for help. The people consequently find refuge in the very one who hastened, and even caused their dilemma -- the little g.

Come the 2012 elections, many people - now dependent on government - will see just how "helpful" the little g was in their economic plight and will continue to seek the benefits which come from their "economic savior" - the little g.

In 2012, if the number of Americans receiving some form of subsistence from the little g are in the majority, then the majority will re-elect the little g.  The campaign mantra of "Yes WE can!" in 2012 will have an entirely different sound..."GIVE US this day our daily bread!"

Patriotic Duty

"It's unacceptable to expect the American people to hand [President Bush] or any administration a $700 billion check with no conditions and no oversight when a lack of oversight in Washington and on Wall Street is exactly what got us into this mess." - Barack Obama

Fact: Barack Obama helped start and perpetuate our nation's financial crisis.

Obama guilty on 2 counts:

Count #1
ACORN was the driving force behind a 1995 regulatory revision... laying the groundwork for the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac borne financial crisis we now confront. Barack Obama was the attorney representing ACORN in this effort. With this new authority, ACORN used its subsidiary, ACORN Housing to promote subprime loans...

Count #2
In his few years as a U.S. senator, Obama has received campaign contributions of $126,349, from Fannie and Freddie (the very companies, as a U.S. senator, which he was responsible to regulate), second only to the $165,400 received by Senator Chris Dodd, who has been getting donations from them since 1988.

Qualified... for the FBI?

Obama would not pass FBI background checks required of all prospective agents:

"Because of his 30-year association with people who hate the United States, including communist Frank Marshall Davis., anti-American preacher Jeremiah Wright, and communist terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, it is highly doubtful that Obama could get a security clearance in the U.S. government he wants to lead...

The federal government provides a "Questionnaire for National Security Positions" to people eligible for a security clearance. There are several requests for information that Obama might find difficult to answer. They include "Other names used" by applicant, "Citizenship of your relatives and associates," "Your foreign activities," and "Your use of illegal drugs and drug activity."

Qualified... for the Presidency?

"...Barack Obama, who has not been "vetted" by the FBI for the position of president of the United States, received his "first high level briefing" on Tuesday from the office of the Director of National Intelligence, CNN has reported...

We are witnessing an incredibly strange situation in which Obama can avoid a background check and get access to national security information, but the people he appoints to high-level government positions-if he becomes president-may be subject to an FBI probe. And the process of turning over this information to Obama, despite the lingering questions about his mysterious and controversial background, has already begun."

Out of Touch

Barack Obama partied with Hollywood celebrities Tuesday night and with the help of Oscar-winning singer and actress Barbra Streisand raised an eye-popping $9 million for his presidential campaign and the Democratic Party. The night was split into two glitzy events, a reception and dinner costing $28,500 [a plate] at the Greystone Mansion, followed by entertainment by Streisand at the nearby Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. About 250-300 people were expected at the dinner and about 800 at the entertainment, which cost $2,500 a ticket...

It was a day of contrasts for Obama. Earlier in the day, the Democratic presidential candidate spoke about the public's deepening economic anxieties and portrayed Republican challenger John McCain as out of touch with the needs of hardworking people. Then he flew to California for a night of hobnobbing with Hollywood notables...
McCain groused about Obama mixing it up with celebrities. He told a rally in Vienna, Ohio, on Tuesday that Obama "talks about siding with the people, siding with the people just before he flies off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends. Let me tell you my friends, there's no place I'd rather be than here with the working men and women of Ohio."

The following may not be suitable for children under 13:

Obama: Sex Education For (5 year old) Kindergartners
While a member of the Illinois state legislature, Barack Obama voted YES on SB99, the so-called "comprehensive sex education" act sponsored by planned Parenthood and the ACLU. The act includes a provision for sex education for kindergarten children. It passed March 6th, 2003.
The Obama campaign and some commentators are trying to spin the sex education bill as a device to prevent sexual predators. Sorry folks, that is only one part of the bill, SB99 section 4. The full text is here. It is a comprehensive sex education bill for public schools in Illinois which covers the following:

Level 1 on Reproduction
• Reproduction requires that a sperm and egg join.
• Vaginal intercourse - when a **bleep** is placed inside a **bleep** – is the most common way for a sperm and egg to join.
